MANSEHRA: Deputy Commissioner Bilal Shahid Rao on Saturday issued arrest warrants for former adviser to chief minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Babar Saleem Swati and his nephew.
“Despite repeated warnings, Swati is still involved in creating law and order issues in the district, so he should be arrested and confined at Central Prison in Haripur,” said an order issued by the deputy commissioner.
It said that actions being taken by Swati led to the disturbance of a peaceful environment in the district.
“Swati has been posing grave concern to peaceful environment instigating the public to take to the streets and challenge the writ of the government,” the order said.
It said that arrest warrants for Swati were also issued earlier at the request of the district police officer but he didn’t mend his ways and was still involved in a challenging peaceful environment.
The deputy commissioner said that Swati should immediately be arrested under section 3(1) of Maintenance of Public Order.
Meanwhile, the deputy commissioner also issued arrest warrants for PTI leader Kamal Saleem Swati, the nephew of Babar Saleem Swati.
An official order issued by the deputy commissioner levelled similar allegations against Kamal Swati.
