UET holds moot on ‘Economy of Tomorrow’
LAHORE : University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Narowal Campus organised a national conference on ‘Economy of Tomorrow’ that was hosted by the Knowledge City & Pakistan Engineering Council.
According to a press release, the event spotlighted the critical role of Industry 4.0 in shaping the future of engineering education and manufacturing sectors.
The moot was inaugurated by ex-minister Prof Ahsan Iqbal. Prof Dr M Shahbaz, the Campus Coordinator provided an overview of the conference agenda. UET Lahore Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Habib ur Rehman emphasised the significance of Industry 4.0 by pointing out the unique aspects of Pakistan's five-year plan that South Korea adopted, showcasing the plan's innovative approach. Prof Ahsan Iqbal elaborated on how this advanced industrial wave could be effectively incorporated into the country's economic and technological strategies. He emphasised the importance of integrating Industry 4.0's innovative practices and technologies to drive Pakistan towards a more prosperous, efficient, and competitive future on the global stage. Prof Dr Niaz Ahmed Akhtar, Vice Chairman PEC, in his address focused on the council's vision and strategic initiatives aimed at advancing the engineering sector in Pakistan.
