The government has raised the price of urea by five per cent. Already, the country is suffering from shortages of urea fertilizer, with farmers complaining about the shortage and high price of urea.
This latest increase will disproportionately impact wheat farmers, who are among the largest consumers of urea. Ultimately, the government must import more urea and help lower its price.
