A handout said that Caretaker Minister for Communications and Works Ahmad Jan and Minister for Rural Development and Local Government Ameer Nadeem Durrani proposed initiating work at Sherwan Interchange to link Abbottabad through a tunnel to facilitate interchanges and improve traffic flow. The meeting was told that the provincial government had requested the federal government to expand Sherwan Interchange and construct an interchange via a tunnel for Abbottabad.

This initiative is aimed at connecting various areas, including Abbottabad city, Mansehra, Nathiagali, and other areas, minimizing traffic congestion within the city. During a meeting in Abbottabad, officials discussed these plans. The focus is on immediate actions such as starting work on Abbottabad BRT project, cleaning up rainwater drains, and addressing road issues near Hazara Motorway’s conclusion at Peshawar Morr.

The officials emphasized the need for timely completion of infrastructure projects, addressing issues left by previous contractors, and conducting inquiries into incomplete work. A comprehensive plan for the redesigning and cleaning of all drains in Abbottabad was discussed with an urgent emphasis on immediate cleaning of all drains in the short term.

The officials directed authorities to collaborate with TMAs for measuring all drains and to ensure prompt action for their redesign. The provincial ministers instructed the relevant authorities to write to the Public Service Commission regarding vacant positions in DHQ hospitals, especially in the evening and night shifts, and to seek a no-objection certificate from the Election Commission for addressing staff shortages in the hospitals.

The meeting directed the officials to address issues related to Abbottabad Teaching Hospital, Dhodial Mental and General Hospital, Boghar Mang BHU, and Kot Najibullah BHU.
