ISLAMABAD: The journalists of Geo and the Jang Group have won all the four awards of the responsible, gender-based equitable reporting by the subordinate organisation of the UN, the International Labour Organisation (ILO).A ceremony for gender-based equitable reporting awards was organised by the ILO with reference to the print and electronic media here on Monday. The award for the best documentary in the electronic media with regard to the problems of domestic servants was won by a producer from Geo News Lahore, Kamran Butt. The award for the best story in the print media was won by Aoun Sahi of The News on Sunday, Islamabad, Shahzada Irfan Ahmed of The News
on Sunday, Lahore, and Iram Noor of The News, Karachi. Speaking on the occasion, Canada’s High Commissioner, Katherine said that women should get equal opportunities in all the walks of life for economic development and the media could play an important role in this regard.
Chief guest of the ceremony, Pakistan’s former ambassador to the US Sherry Rehman said that the environment of the organisations would have to be made better so that women could work there with liberty.
