Crackdown launched against human traffickers

LAHORE: In the direction of Director Gujranwala Zone Sajid Akram, the crackdown continues against elements involved in human trafficking.

Five accused including two proclaimed offenders (POs) involved in heinous crime of visa fraud and human trafficking arrested. Among the arrested accused are Muhammad Nazir, Imtiaz Ahmed, Muhammad Usman, Ali Hassan and Abdul Rasheed.

The accused were arrested from different areas of Gujranwala and Gujarat. The accused stole lacs of rupees in the name of sending the citizens abroad. Accused Imtiaz Ahmed received more than 4 lac for illegally sending citizens to Europe through Iran and Turkey. The accused was wanted by FIA Gujarat Circle since 2017.

Accused Muhammad Nazir received more than 4 lac for illegally sending citizens to Libya for employment. The accused was wanted by FIA Gujranwala Circle since 2019. Accused Mohammad Usman collected 4 lac rupees to send the citizen to Spain while accused Ali Hassan collected 6 lac rupees for sending the citizen to Greece for employment.

Accused Abdul Rasheed got Rs1 lac 80 thousand to send the citizen to Dubai for employment. The accused failed to send the victims abroad after receiving the money. Several raids were conducted to arrest the accused. The accused were arrested and the investigation started. Raids are being conducted to arrest other accused, said spokesperson.

Meanwhile, FIA arrested three proclaimed offenders (POs) wanted in serious crimes. The accused arrested from UAE and transferred to Multan Airport. The arrested accused include Muhammad Nasir, Jahanzeb and Sajid Ali. The arrested accused were wanted by Punjab and KP police.

Accused Muhammad Nasir was wanted by Lodran police, accused Jahanzeb Rahim Yar Khan was wanted by police in robbery cases. While the accused Sajid Ali Mardan was wanted by the police in a murder case.

FIA NCB Interpol Pakistan had issued red notices for the arrest of the accused. Later, FIA Immigration Multan handed over the accused to the concerned police authorities. The extradition of the accused was possible due to the close coordination of Interpol Islamabad with Interpol Abu Dhabi.

NCB Interpol Pakistan is rendering valuable services for the arrest of the accused who are absconding abroad. NCB Interpol Pakistan is always striving for the arrest and timely extradition of the most wanted accused, said spokesperson of FIA.
