One killed, four injured as truck runs pedestrians over

Hyderabad: After its driver lost control of the vehicle, a trawler truck ran over pedestrians, killing one citizen and injuring four others.

The truck carrying flour went out of control near a bakery on Sakhi Peer Road in the Liaquat Colony area in Hyderabad late on Saturday night. The vehicle ran over stalls, wheelers, and motorcyclists standing on the road

According to the police, the citizens shifted the injured to the Civil Hospital, where one citizen, Shahid Hussain, died and four others were undergoing treatment. The injured were identified as 60-year-old Mushtaq, 50-year-old Mohammad Shahid, 40-year-old Javed and 35-year-old Waseem.

According to a spokesperson for the Hyderabad SSP, the Sakhi Pir police station took the truck driver, Iqbal, resident of Multan, into custody. A case has yet to be registered.
