Bullet-riddled bodies of six barbers found in Waziristan
MIRANSHAH: Six barbers were apparently kidnapped, murdered and their bodies dumped in a field in Mir Ali tehsil in North Waziristan tribal district on Tuesday.
Local and official sources said that the bullet-riddled bodies of six men were found in the field in Muski village located in Mir Ali.
They said that the initial investigation suggested that the victims had been shot dead after being kidnapped.
The slain persons, the sources added, were all barbers, stated to be non-locals and had recently shifted to North Waziristan. They were running barber shops in Mir Ali Bazaar.
Upon receiving information, the police rushed to the spot and shifted the bodies to the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital in Mir Ali for medico-legal formalities.
The police launched investigations from various angles after collecting evidence from the crime scene.
The motives behind the killing of barbers could not be ascertained.
The law and order situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is worsening due to the rising incidents of terrorism at a time when the much-awaited countrywide elections are just over a month away.
The increase in terrorism acts, including attacks on military and police as well as targeted killings, are on the rise in the province, particularly the former tribal belt and Bannu and Dera Ismail Khan districts.
