6,020 anti-beggary cases registered in 2023

LAHORE:Lahore Police have claimed arresting 1,497 accused after registering 6,020 anti-beggary cases during its crackdown in 2023.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Bilal Siddique Kamyana said 1,331 cases were registered in the City division, 893 in the Cantonment division, 900 in Civil Lines, 943 in the Sadr division, 723 in Iqbal Town division and 1,230 in Model Town division.
He said 6,035 cases were registered for violation of the tenancy, 5,035 cases against one-wheeling, 3,609 of violation of the Sound Act and 5,374 of kite flying have been registered.
