BATKHELA: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) workers came on roads on Wednesday to protest the armed attack on their former member of the KP Assembly.
Unidentified people had lobbed a hand- grenade into the hujra of the former member provincial assembly, Peer Musawwar Khan Ghazi on Monday. The inmates remained unhurt but the guest house located in Dargai tehsil of the Malakand district was partially damaged in the attack.
The PTI leaders and workers had condemned the attack and announced to stage a protest to register anger at the attack. The protesters gathered at the main chowk in Dargai. They were carrying banners and placards inscribed with slogans against the government for lawlessness.
Addressing the protesters, Musawwar Khan Ghazi, who was also the chairman of the District Development Advisory Committee of Malakand in the past, said he had received threatening calls multiple times from Afghan cell numbers.
“I asked the deputy commissioner to provide me security but received no response,” lamented the former MPA.He alleged that the PTI members were being subjected to revengeful actions. “The district administration would be responsible if I was harmed,” he warned.
