Most candidates in Khyber are independents

JAMRUD: A total of 127 candidates in Khyber district’s NA-27 constituency have submitted their nomination papers for the upcoming general elections scheduled for February 8, 2024.
Among them, 22 candidates are vying for constituency NA-27, while the remaining 105 have submitted papers for PK-69, PK-70, and PK-71.
The highest number of candidates, 37 in total, is from PK-70, followed by 35 candidates in PK-71. The PK-69 is in third place, with 33 candidates.
Also, three women candidates are contesting the elections in the Khyber district — one from PK-70, second from PK-71, and the third from PK-69.A majority of the candidates are contesting the polls as independents.
