Police reject report of firing on judge
RAWALPINDI: The local police Wednesday rejected news about firing at the car of accountability court judge Mohammad Bashir at the PAF intersection when he was heading home after the jail trial of PTI former chairman Imran Khan in the NCA scam case.
A police department spokesman said the suspect, identified as Shayan, was arrested soon after the incident.
The car of the judge had passed the place well before the shooting took place, he said. The suspect was shifted to the Airport police station.
The spokesman said the shooting episode had no link with the accountability court judge.
The arrested person was forcibly taking his close relatives to a place but they refused to go with him. Consequently, he resorted to aerial firing to pressurise them, added the spokesperson.
