P&D Board, NDRMF join hands for climate financing

LAHORE:Planning and Development (P&D) Board Chairman Iftikhar Ali Sahoo and CEO National Disaster Risk Management Fund (NDRMF) Bilal Anwar signed a framework of cooperation as a first step towards climate financing on Wednesday.

Sahoo also discussed the significance of climate financing and carbon credits. He added that this will help in identifying a better plan for developing a better strategy to reduce the effects of carbon emissions and urged the relevant departments to take technical support for the experts.

Chief Environment/DS(E) P&D Board Ms Saba Asghar moderated the session. Head Remit Hamed Yaqoob Sheikh, Secretary EPD Rashid Kamal-ur-Rehman, Member Environment Ahmad Aziz Tarar, Member Water Dr Abid Bodla, Member PSD Ahmad Mustajab Karamat, Member Energy Sadaqat Hussain Khan, CEO Urban Unit Omar Maqsud, Chief Environment Ms Saba Asghar, reps of remit, urban unit and others participated in the ceremony.

MoU signed on enhancing capacity building activities

The University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) Lahore Wednesday signed a memorandum of understanding with an organisation to collaborate in conducting of capacity-building activities for the leadership, senior management and staff trainings and other activities, including workshops, conference and seminars, etc.

UVAS Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Nasim Ahmad (SI) and Chief Executive Officer of the organisation Dr Muhammad Akram signed the MoU in a ceremony held at City Campus. Director Veterinary Academy Dr Muhammad Asif Awan and UVAS administrative officer and officials from the organisation attended the ceremony.

On the occasion, Prof Dr Nasim Ahmed thanked the administrators of the Farming Next to choose UVAS for conducting different trainings for the capacity-building of senior leadership and management staff to bring competencies in their professionals work.
