Intercollegiate English and Urdu speech competitions held
Islamabad: Intercollegiate English and Urdu speech competitions were held in FG Home Economics and Management Sciences College, F-11/1 to commemorate Quaid's Day.
This event aimed to reflect upon the ideals and vision of the founding father, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. The esteemed principal of college, Prof Rozina Fahim graced the occasion as the worthy chief guest.
The atmosphere during the competition was charged with a sense of reverence as students paid homage to the visionary leader who played a pivotal role in the creation of our beloved nation. The event provided a platform for participants to articulate their understanding of Quaid's vision and its relevance in contemporary times.
In the English speech segment, participants eloquently delved into various aspects of Quaid-e-Azam's life, principles, and contributions. The topic for English speech competition was 'Quaid-e-Azam's vision of religious tolerance and peace'. Each speaker demonstrated a profound understanding of the historical context, encapsulating the essence of Quaid's vision and its enduring impact on our nation. The speeches were a testament to the participants' research, rhetorical skills, and ability to draw connections between Quaid's ideals and the challenges of the present. The competition was adjudicated by Rashid Saleemi Mudassir Altaf and Munir Fayaz.
The consolation prize was awarded to Hafza Faisal from IMCG, F-8/1; third position was bagged by Siala Ibrahim from IMCG, G-10/2 and second position was hooked by Zara Fatima from IMCG, G-10/4. The most envious first position was grabbed by Abeer Rizwan from FG home economics and management sciences F-11/1.
The Urdu speech segment celebrated the linguistic and cultural heritage of our nation as students expressed their thoughts on Quaid's Day in our national language. The topic for Urdu speech competition was 'Beesween sadi k sb say azeen rehnuma Quaid-e-Azam’. The eloquence and passion with which participants spoke in Urdu added a unique dimension to the event, reinforcing the importance of preserving and promoting our linguistic roots.
A distinguished panel of judges for Urdu speech competition included Amjad Iqbal, Shahid Mehmood and Dr Sher Ali. The consolation prize was awarded to Qurrat ul Ain of IMCG, F-8/1; third position was grabbed by Mehak Zehra of IMCG, Bhara Kahu. Second position was hooked by Rakeeza Shehzadi of IMCG, F-7/4; the prestigious first position was booked by Syeda Fizza Batool of IMCG, F-7/2. The announcement of winners was met with applause, acknowledging the exceptional efforts of participants in both English and Urdu categories. The winners not only demonstrated linguistic prowess but also a deep understanding of Quaid-e-Azam's legacy and its relevance in shaping our collective identity.
