HYDERABAD/ SUKKUR: Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Fazl (JUI-F) secretary general Sindh chapter Rashid Mahmood Soomro said he has applied to the party ticket to contest the election against PPP chief Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, adding the final decision will be taken by the party.
Addressing a press conference on Sunday in Sukkur, the JUI-F leader said as to how the PPP will run its election campaign in Punjab and other provinces after its poor performance in Sindh as people in the province are facing severe problems including poor education, health and other facilities.
In an obvious reference to the PPP, he said an impression has been given that only one party can win in Sindh, adding it is wrong perception.
He expressed his reservations on appointing ROs, DROs from the bureaucracy on behalf of the Election Commission and said that if the EC thought that transparent elections could be held through these officers, they would also look at their previous experience. To a question, Soomro said that ten parties had objected to delimitations, but still delimitation had been done on the request of the PPP.
On the occasion, influential politician from Sukkur Mir Mahar announced to join Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Fazl (JUI-F).
Mir Mahar said that he always tried to represent the people as he secured over 18,0000 votes in the last elections. He said that he had found JUI-F as an ideological party and pledged to work as a JUI-F activist.
