ISLAMABAD: Information Secretary and Spokesperson for Pakistan Peoples Party Faisal Karim Kundi said on Friday the country could not afford any ‘Ladla or selected’ this time.

Addressing a press conference here on Friday, he said the PPP would not tolerate postponement or delay in elections under any circumstances. He was accompanied by PPP Secretary General Human Rights Cell Malaika Raza and PPP Media Coordinator Nazir Dhoki.

Palwasha Abbasi, who was the former deputy information secretary of the PTI women wing, also announced joining the PPP.

“If the ROs [returning officers] and DROs [district returning officers] were not appointed from bureaucracy, then who would be appointed for the purpose?” he questioned, asking if aliens would do the job.

Faisal Kundi said the PPP wanted an inquiry against those who brought back and settled terrorists in the country. He said army soldiers were martyred in Dera Ismael Khan and policemen sacrificed themselves for the country in Tank. “Who is involved in shedding their blood? We ask the past rulers who brought these militants here. The PPP has made many sacrifices for peace in the country,” he added.

He said Bilawal Bhutto Zardari would address the Lahore High Court Bar on December 18, while Asif Ali Zardari was going to Balochistan.

To a question, he said in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, transfers and postings had taken place at the behest of Pervez Khattak, while in other provinces, at the behest of PMLN. “Whatever the situation, level playing field or not, the PPP wants elections on time,” he added.
