LAHORE:The PDWP approved three development schemes of the roads & bridges, and local government sector at an estimated cost of Rs17.811 billion, in its 34th meeting of the current financial year 2023-24.
Planning and Development (P&D) Board Chairman Iftikhar Ali Sahoo chaired the meeting. Secretary P&D Board Muzaffar Khan Sial was also present.
Approved schemes included construction of dual carriageway from GT Road (Benazir Chowk) to Lahore - Sialkot Motorway (Mahndo Interchange), District Gujranwala at the cost of Rs9.29 billion, dualisation of road from Mandi Bahauddin City to Sarai Alamgir Canal Pul Main GT Road via Village Rasool, District MB Din at the cost of Rs6.74 billion and strengthening of Programme Management Unit (PMU) & City Implementation Units (CIUs) for (1) Punjab Intermediate Cities Improvement Investment Project (PICIIP); and (II) Project Readiness Financing (PRF) under Punjab Urban Development project at the cost of Rs1.77 billion. All members of P&D Board, secretaries of relevant departments and other senior representatives of the relevant provincial departments also attended the meeting.
