O level student abducted near Maymar returns home safely
An O level student who was kidnapped near Gulshan-e-Maymar has returned home safely. Taimuria resident Mujtaba, 19, had been abducted with his car late on Tuesday night. He returned home at 3am on Thursday, according to his family.
His abduction case was registered at the SITE Super Highway police station. SHO Ejaz Masan confirmed his release, saying that an investigation is under way.
The officer said the young man’s statement has been recorded, adding that the people behind the kidnapping would soon be arrested. He said the case has been transferred to the investigation wing of the police station.
One of the kidnappers, who had introduced himself to the teenager’s family as Kamran Pasha, claimed that he was an official of an intelligence agency.
Mujtaba’s mother Amna Bibi said in her FIR that in response to her online advertisement to sell a plot, Pasha had contacted her son. She said that after the deal reached the final stage, Pasha and his accomplice visited their house on Tuesday night.
According to the mother’s statement to the police, the suspects asked the family if they could drop them home, where they would make the full payment of Rs16.5 million.
The family agreed, and they set off at around 11pm on Tuesday towards Taimuria to take the suspects home. As they reached the Admore Pump near Ahsanabad, the suspects first forced the teenager’s uncle Osama to get out of the car at gunpoint.
After that they proceeded towards the Jamali flyover, where they told the mother to get out of the car, then they left with the teenager, the car and the plot documents.
Trader still missing
A trader named Harisur Rahman who had been kidnapped from Gadap City on Tuesday is yet to be found. He had left with his driver Asghar Khan from Malir Cantonment for his poultry farm and had made it to the road near the Baqai Cadet College where he was kidnapped.
The driver, who was released by the kidnappers, told the police that a black car had blocked their path, then four men bearing arms got out of the car and identified themselves as Counter Terrorism Department officials.
After that they forced the trader and his driver out of the car, then they made them get in the suspects’ car and drove away with them. The suspects later told the driver to get out of the car, then they drove off with the trader.
