LAHORE: Governor Balighur Rehman has approved the inclusion of Bhakkar, Mianwali, Lodhran districts, and Tehsil Sarai Alamgir of Gujrat district within the jurisdiction of the nearest benches of the Lahore High Court, withdrawing these areas from the principal seat.
Details reveal that Bhakkar district has been included in the Multan Bench of the Lahore High Court, Mianwali District in the Rawalpindi Bench, Lodhran District in Lahore High Court’s Bahawalpur Bench, while Tehsil Sarai Alamgir has been included in Lahore High Court Rawalpindi Bench.
Addressing a long-standing demand from District Bar Associations and the public, who faced challenges in traveling long distances to reach the Principal Seat to pursue their cases, this initiative aims to facilitate the litigant public and lawyers by allowing them to follow cases in the benches of Lahore High Court nearest to their areas.
Furthermore, the governor also approved the re-promulgation of the Code of Criminal Procedure Amendment Ordinance 2023.
