PPRA rules’ violation; Inquiry ordered against nine officers
ISLAMABAD: An inquiry has been ordered by the Establishment Division against nine officers of grades 16 to 20.
Establishment Division Secretary Inamullah Dharijo has appointed Additional Secretary Incharge Petroleum Division Momin Agha as the inquiry officer. Deputy Secretary Admin Jahanzeb Patafi has been appointed as the department representative.
The officers facing the inquiry include: Imran Jameel Shami, a grade 20 officer of the Secretariat Group, Naveed Khalid, a grade 19 officer of Secretariat Group, X-cadre officer grade 19 Mohammad Shahid Dev, OMG officer grade 18 Sohail Babur Waraich, OMG officer grade 18 Rana Sohail Akhtar, Superintendent grade 17 Ashfaq Hussain, Superintendent Abdus Salam, APS Ghulam Murtaza and Assistant Mohammad Naseem. The inquiry will be completed in 60 days. All these officers against whom the inquiry is being conducted have performed their duties in the admin wing of the Establishment Division. During the period of their appointment, the audit conducted by the Auditor General of Pakistan had found violations of the PPRA rules in procurement of various types of goods including stationery. The stock register was not completed. Complaints of multi-million corruption led the audit authorities to recommend an inquiry into the matter and fix responsibility.
