Bilawal to undertake Punjab tour, says Gillani
MULTAN: Former prime minister Syed Yousaf Raza Gillani said Monday that the Pakistan People’s Party had conducted candidates’ interviews when the assemblies were dissolved. He said Bilawal Bhutto Zardari had completed visits throughout Sindh for the election campaign and is now coming to Punjab for the same purpose.
Speaking to journalists on Monday while visiting the Buch International Hospital in his constituency, he mentioned that the hospital was equipped with facilities, and there should be more like it.
He said that the PPP was a democratic party, and it was crucial to eliminate ambiguity regarding the reference to the judicial killing of Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto. Gillani expressed his belief that the elections would not be postponed and that the PPP had concluded its election preparations. Commenting on Asif Zardari’s time in jail, he suggested that those with issues should address them in court.
The PPP has its manifesto, and it plans to approach the people’s court rather than seeking power through backdoor methods, he said. He said the party did not have security concerns. He said that the PPP had faced obstacles during the election campaign, but now it was proceeding vigorously.
Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has visited Sindh, Balochistan, and is now set to begin the election campaign in Punjab, he said, highlighting that the president, ECP, and judiciary have confirmed the completion of preparations for holding the elections.
