‘Efforts being made to provide nation cheaper electricity’
LAHORE:Wapda has been making its best efforts to provide cheaper electricity and developing new dams to meet growing demand of water and provide cheaper Hydel Power electricity to the nation along with welfare of the employees.
That is the reason that Wapda had opened schools and colleges in various places to provide free education facilities to the children of employees. It is commendable that All Pakistan Wapda Hydro Electric Workers Union has provided free computer education facilities to the children of Wapda / DISCOs employees in some cities.
It is need of the hour that the youth of country are to be provided free and standard education to raise their skills and knowledge for becoming self-reliant and eliminating unemployment.
This was expressed by Brig (Retd) Hamid Raza General Manager (HR) Wapda while addressing the students of computer education at Bakhtiar Labour Hall, here. Khurshed Ahmad General Secretary of the union addressing the participants appealed to the students that they should continue to improve their computer skills.
He demanded the government allocate adequate resources for providing free standard education to each child since more than 30 million children have no access to education due to the poverty.
