DPOs reprimanded for delay in FIR registration

LAHORE : IG Punjab admonished the DPOs of Mandi Bahauddin, Nankana and Khanewal for unnecessary delay in registration of FIRs and directed them to improve their supervision.

While presiding over the video link conference, he directed all the RPOs, CPOs and DPOs to conduct surprise visits for the inspection of police stations and police offices.

He directed RPOs and DPOs to ensure uninterrupted issuance of driving licenses in all districts of the province including Lahore.

He directed the Punjab Information and Technology Board to make the licensing system more active and said that the burden on the system should be removed due to the tendency of the citizens to obtain driving licenses in record numbers.

Funds released for cops’ treatment

IG released funds amounting to Rs17 lakhs for medical treatment of nine employees.

Meanwhile, IG Punjab pinned the ranks of DSP to 30 newly-promoted officers in a ceremony held at the CPO on Saturday.

The families, children and relatives of the promoted officers specially participated in the ceremony.
