Lesco recovers over Rs11.9m from 532 defaulters
LAHORE : Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) in collaboration with Tehsildar has recovered Rs11.9 million from 532 dead defaulters in all the five districts - Lahore, Sheikhupura, Nankana Sahib, Kasur and Okara on the 85th day of its recovery campaign.
Lesco spokesman told media here Friday that on the 85th day, Chief Engineer O&M (T&G) Zafar Iqbal with the support of Tehsildar City Mujahid Zia and Tehsildar Shalimar Noreez Humayun recovered outstanding dues of Rs1.13 million from 60 defaulters in Northern Circle and Rs4.16 million from 72 defaulters in Eastern Circle respectively.
Similarly, Lesco Manager (Material Disposal) Engineer Anwar Wattoo along with Tehsildar Model Town Rana Arsal and Tehsildar Cantt. Sajjad Qureshi recovered Rs1.38 million from 49 defaulters in Central Circle, and Rs0.43 million from 33 defaulters in South Circle, while Manager (Technical) Engineer M Farooq with the assistance of Tehsildar Nankana Sahib M Iqbal Rasheed and Tehsildar Sheikhupura M Aslam Gujjar recovered Rs0.78 million from 51 defaulters in Nankana Circle and Rs1.25 million from 47 defaulters in Sheikhupura Circle.
He added that Lesco Manager E&S (PMU) Engineer Abbas Ali in collaboration with Naib Tehsildar Kasur and Okara Mirza Zahid Baig recovered outstanding dues of Rs0.88 million from 99 defaulters in Okara Circle and Rs1.89 million from 121 defaulters in Kasur Circle.
Up till now during the recovery campaign, the Lesco with the help of Tehsildars (Recovery) recovered more than Rs1.54 billion from 49,759 dead defaulters in its all circles of operation.
He elaborated that Lesco recovered outstanding dues of Rs194.59 million from 6,370 defaulters in Northern Circle; Rs374.31 million from 6,423 defaulters in Eastern Circle; Rs207.92 million from 5,935 defaulters in Central Circle; Rs81.22 million from 2,598 defaulters in South Circle, Rs111.25 million from 4,627 defaulters in Nankana Circle; Rs235.62 million from 5,732 defaulters in Sheikhupura Circle; Rs97.53 million from 7,697 defaulters in Okara Circle and Rs242.04 million from 10,377 defaulters in Kasur Circle.
For the recovery campaign started on September 13, the Lahore Division’s Commissioner had assigned additional charge of Tehsildar Recovery (from Lesco defaulters) to relevant Tehsildars, while Lesco Chief Executive Officer Engineer Shahid Haidar has also designated four senior officers to assist them in the dues recovery from defaulters. Lesco Chief Executive Officer Engineer Shahid Haider said that the company is facing loss due to dead defaulters, and vowed to continue action against them.
