SIF, PNCA collaborate for child rights
Islamabad:In a groundbreaking collaboration, Islamique France (SIF) and the Pakistan National Council of Arts (PNCA) organized a two-day event in Islamabad, focusing on Child Rights, Mental Well-being, and the Effects of Climate Change. The event, held at the prestigious PNCA, featured a unique puppet show as a powerful tool for conveying critical messages and proved to be a catalyst for positive change.
Distinguished guests, including Haroon Ur Reham from the Child Commission Institute, Awais Ahmed representing the DIG Security Office, Imtiaz Ali from non-profit organization Sahil, and Dr. Roomi S. Hayat, CEO of the Institute of Rural Management, shared valuable insights. They addressed crucial issues such as child abuse, police investigations for prompt justice, and the necessity of awareness at the family, societal, and institutional levels.
Key initiatives like the Safe City project, the establishment of Child Protection Cells, and a dedicated women and child protection police station were highlighted. Adult literacy programs, parent counseling, and the role of media channels, as stressed by Sharafat Ali and M. Ayub Jamali, were underscored as vital components in addressing societal challenges. The event began with a recitation and the national anthem, followed by opening remarks from Dr. Altaf Abro, Head of Mission. Feroza Zahra, Country Program Coordinator, emphasized the global importance of the 16 Days of Activism, celebrated from November 25 to December 10, addressing gender-based violence.
Dr. Altaf Abro encapsulated the spirit of the event, stating, "This event is a testament to the collective responsibility we bear for the well-being of our children. Through collaboration and awareness, we can ensure a brighter future for the next generation." He added, "In the tapestry of our collective responsibility, events like these are threads that weave a brighter future for our children, illuminating the path towards a society that cherishes and safeguards their rights."
The collaboration between SIF and PNCA has successfully created a platform inspiring positive action towards ensuring the safety, security, and well-being of children in Pakistan, setting a noteworthy precedent for collaborative efforts in the pursuit of a brighter future.
