Jashan-e-Iftikhar Arif kicks off at Lahore Fort
LAHORE: The three-day Jashan-e-Iftikhar Arif celebrations started at Lahore Fort on Friday. Walled City of Lahore Authority in collaboration with Ishqabad organised the event.
WCLA Director General Kamran Lashari, renowned poet Abbas Tabish, Shafaq Lashari, Information and Culture Secretary Daniyal Gilani, Manoor Saeed, Khurshid Rizvi and Najiba Arif, Hussain Naqi participated in the event.
On the occasion, Iftikhar Arif made a short speech and lauded the efforts of WCLA. He offered thanks to the WCLA that his services were acknowledged in his life.The audience had an in-depth discussion on various aspects of Iftikhar Arif’s poetry and life, followed by a dervish dance where the arts of dance and music enthralled the audience. After that, poets expressed their views in Nasal-e-Nau Mushaira and famous poets Talat Munir, Ranjit Chauhan and others recited their poetry. At the end of the ceremony, the performance of Nadeem Abbas Lonewala lit up the night and captivated the hearts of the audience.
