PA session adjourned to mourn death of MPA Muqeem Khoso
Karachi
The Sindh Assembly session on Monday was adjourned for the next 24 hours to mourn the death of a sitting MPA of the ruling Pakistan Peoples Party, Sardar Muhammad Muqeem Khan Khoso.
Parliamentary affairs minister Nisar Ahmed Khuhro presented the motion to adjourn the House till Tuesday to mourn soon after it reassembled following the recitation from Holy Quran, Naat and prayers for departed souls.
The House had reassembled after a two-day recess.
Khuhro informed the House that it had been practice and tradition of the provincial assembly to adjourn a sitting of the house in case an incumbent member of the assembly died.
He recalled the political and social services of the late PPP lawmaker for his constituents saying that the deceased had remained both a member of the National Assembly and a member of Sindh Assembly from his constituency in Jacobabad.
Khoso was a member of Sindh Assembly on the treasury benches from the constituency PS-14 Jacobabad.
The 66-year-old lawmaker died of liver disease in the early hours of Sunday at a private hospital.
A day earlier, the chief minister had visited the hospital to inquire about health of the ailing MPA.
Khoso was a member of the assembly’s standing committees on culture, tourism and antiquities, forest, wildlife, environment and irrigation. He was a farmer by his native profession.
