PESHAWAR: An Italian citizen was found dead in the provincial capital here on Monday. Reports said the Italian national, Joshua Moises Vargas, allegedly committed a suicide in a flat in Arbab Residencia in the limits of the Nasir Bagh Police Station. He had booked the flat online.
Police officials said the Italian Embassy had been informed and the body preserved so that the post-mortem was conducted in presence of the representative of the embassy.
“The deceased had arrived in Pakistan from Saudi Arabia via Bacha Khan International Airport on October 18.
He obtained a tourist visa on October 9,” stated an initial report prepared by the Superintendent of Police of Warsak, Arshad Khan. The report added the matter was being probed under 174 of the Criminal Procedure Code and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs had been informed.
