A local court has declared former prime minister Imran Khan’s adviser Mirza Shahzad Akbar as a proclaimed offender in a fraud and embezzlement case
ISLAMABAD. A local court has declared former prime minister Imran Khan’s adviser Mirza Shahzad Akbar as a proclaimed offender in a fraud and embezzlement case.
Civil Judge Ahmed Shahzad Gondal declared the former accountability czar as a proclaimed offender in a fraud and embezzlement case registered at the Secretariat Police Station.
A day earlier, the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) issued arrest warrants for Shahzad Akbar, Zulfi Bukhari and two others in the £190 million settlement case. The development came after NAB filed a reference in the £190 million settlement case, officially nominating former prime minister Imran Khan as an accused in the case.
A total of eight people have been nominated in the case. Besides Imran, Bushra Bibi, Farah Gogi, Zulfi Bukhari, Shahzad Akbar and Barrister Zia-ul-Mustafa Naseem have also been accused in the case.
