Govt relaxes foreign travel bar on Abbasi
Caretaker federal cabinet has allowed former Abbasi whose name exists on ECL to visit abroad once a month
ISLAMABAD: The caretaker federal cabinet has allowed former prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi whose name exists on the Exit Control List (ECL) to visit abroad once a month.
An approval of a summary in this regard was given by the federal cabinet through a circulation on Monday. The cabinet, however, did not agree to a proposal to allow Abbasi’s multiple foreign visits.
Meanwhile, the cabinet approved appointment of three members of the Capital Development Authority Board. Saadia Haider, a BPS-19 officer of Pakistan Administrative Service and currently serving as deputy secretary Establishment Division, has been appointed member Planning and Design. The post had fallen vacant with repatriation of Waseem Hayat Bajwa one month back. Dr Khalid Hafeez, a BPS-19 officer of Communication and Works Department Punjab, has been appointed as member Engineering. This post has been vacant since the retirement of Munawwar Shah two months before. The post of member Environment was vacant since the appointment of Captain (retd) Anwaarul Haq as CDA chairman. Dr Khalid Hafeez is from the Pakistan Audit and Accounts Service and is currently serving as director Finance at the Children Hospital Faisalabad.
