ISLAMABAD: As many as 37 players have turned up for the national hockey team training for the Olympic Qualifying round to be held in Oman from mid-January.
Malik Mohammad Shafqat, 1994 World Cup winning team centre-forward and 2014 Champions Trophy runner-up coach, told The News at the Bunda Ground Monday that 37 players started training.
The rest of the players will join the camp at the conclusion of the Junior World Cup to be held in Malaysia, he added.
“We have 37 players available. The players will be short-listed before junior team’s players joining the camp at the conclusion of the World Cup around December 17,” Shafqat said.
