Corporate compliance seminar held
LAHORE: The Pakistan China Joint Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCJCCI) organised a seminar on "Corporate Compliance" with the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) on Thursday, aiming to create awareness and enhance compliance rate of companies.
The session, held at the PCJCCI Secretariat, attracted a diverse audience of representatives from companies, multilateral institutions, professional bodies, capital market institutions, and business forums.
The keynote speakers were Saeedullah, Registrar/Incharge of the Company Registration Office in Lahore, and Sidra Mansur, Additional Registrar, both from SECP. The seminar covered topics such as post-incorporation statutory compliance requirements, statutory registers, appointment of company secretary, legal advisor, auditor, and event-based filing under the Companies Act 2017.
Saeedullah said that SECP has remained a strong proponent of a robust disclosure-based regime and that a cohesive sustainability reporting framework by the International Sustainable Standards Board (ISSB) would facilitate inclusive economic growth.
Moazzam Ghurki, President of PCJCCI, said in his welcome address that the PCJCCI aimed to provide a vibrant platform for its member companies and business community to enhance their knowledge and learn contemporary business techniques.
