9,679 cases registered against electricity thieves

LAHORE: Police registered 9,679 cases against electricity theft and 9,701 cases against drug trafficking during the current year.

Around 3,698 cases against power theft were registered by Iqbal Town Division, 3,477 cases by Sadar Division, 4,560 cases by Cantt Division, 2,613 cases by Model Town Division, 3,910 cases by City Division and 1,421 cases were registered by Civil Lines Division.

Similarly, 1,424 cases were registered against drug trafficking by Iqbal Town Division, 1,222 cases by Sadar Division, 2,108 cases by Cantt Division, 1,845 cases by Model Town Division, 2,057 cases by City Division and 1,045 cases were registered by Civil Lines Division.

Eight unidentified bodies buried

Edhi Foundation buried eight unidentified bodies recovered from different areas of the City. One each body was recovered from Data Darbar, Manawan, Masti Gate, Johar Town and Naseerabad police areas and two bodies were found in the limits of Lytton Road police station. Edhi Foundation buried all unclaimed bodies in Saggian graveyard.

Four stolen bikes impounded

Safe City Virtual Patrolling Officer impounded four stolen motorcycles. FIRs were registered in Data Darbar, Ghalib Market, and Gulshan Iqbal police stations. The spokesperson for Punjab Safe Cities Authority stated that a crackdown was under way against violators of law through the surveillance of PSCA cameras.

11 die in accidents

The Emergency Services Department (ESD) responded to 1,223 road traffic accidents in all districts of Punjab during the last 24 hours.
