White House, Pentagon running Nawaz Sharif’s election campaign: Awan
ISLAMABAD: PTI Leader Babar Awan has alleged that Nawaz Sharif’s election campaign is being run from the White House and Pentagon.
Talking to journalists at the Islamabad High Court, Advocate Babar Awan said there is no change in the US policy, as previously it was Donald Lu and now there is Donald Blome. The two statements issued by the US embassy were proof of it, he said, adding that the US diplomats after meeting Nawaz Sharif described him as a “political actor”. He said that first Shehbaz Sharif was installed as an “imported prime minister”, and now Nawaz Sharif was “double imported”. He said the PTI Chairman Imran Khan had disclosed the regime change conspiracy by exposing the US diplomatic cable and is undergoing jail trial for that. He said Khan is standing trial, being questioned and has been remanded in the same jail.
Awan said the voters distressed by double-digit inflation and the “petrol bomb” due to hikes in petroleum products’ prices are prepared to give the PMLN a crushing defeat in the February 8 elections. He deplored that the PTI is not being allowed to contest the elections. The PTI leader said it is time for the ECP to choose its role in history or in history’s dustbin.
