Police always ready to serve citizens: IG
LAHORE: Inspector General Police Punjab Dr Usman has appreciated the CIA and Operations Wing teams for successful operation against dangerous dacoits/robbers who took families hostage in a house in the Iqbal Town area of provincial capital.
IG Punjab said that the police team responded immediately to the call of 15, excellent coordination and teamwork were ensured between the CIA and the operations wing to counter the robbers. He said that despite the fierce firing by the robbers on the police, police team responded very actively and killed all the robbers in counter-firing.
IG Punjab said that the Punjab Police is always alert to protect the life and property of the citizens, and will not leave any stone unturned to eradicate the anti-national and criminal elements. He directed the police teams to be on high alert to protect the life and property of the citizens and to spare no effort in fighting crime and public service.
Rs12 lakh distributed for cops’ treatment
Inspector General of Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, is continuing the priority measures for the health welfare of the police force and their families, in continuation of which another Rs12 lakh were distributed for the health welfare of police force.
According to the details, Ghazi driver of Nankana Police Constable Syed Qayyum Shah was given 03 lakh rupees for treatment. Injured constable M Munir Akhtar of Rahim Yar Khan was given Rs03 lakh for medical expenses. Injured Constable M Azmat of Dolphin Squad Okara was given Rs02 lakh for treatment. One lakh rupees was given to the injured constable M Saeed and driver constable M Parvez of Lahore Police for treatment each. Multan police Ghazi ASI Anwar Saeed and Rajanpur injured constable Habibullah were given Rs01 lakh each for medical expenses.
The Compensation Award Committee headed by Additional IG Finance and Welfare M Riaz Nazir Gara had sent the above mentioned cases of medical expenses to IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar for release of funds. IG Punjab Dr Usman Anwar while directing the continue vigorous measures for the welfare of the force said that no employee suffering from health problems or his family will be left alone. IG Punjab said that all the health welfare measures are being done by the income generated from police resource and welfare fund deducted from the income of the salaries of the police force, and these initiatives will remain continue.
Training of Anti-Riot Force
Inspector General Police Punjab Dr Usman Anwar visited Police Training College Chung and reviewed the training of Anti-Riot Force on Saturday.
IG Punjab met the Anti-Riot Force officials and issued important instructions in his address. He said that Anti-Riot Force is the most important field formation of Punjab Police which is responsible for controlling sit-ins, protests and violent demonstrators.
IG Punjab said that there will be no reduction in the provision of modern equipment and facilities to the Anti-Riot Force. All the officials of Anti-Riot Force should complete the training with full effort and sincerity.
1,860 cases registered against underage drivers
City Traffic police has launched a crackdown against underage and unlicensed drivers. The police registered 1,860 cases against underage drivers during the last five days. The police registered 210 cases against unlicensed drivers on the very first day of the crackdown. As per police, cases will also be registered against those who give cars and motorcycles to underage drivers.
