Dairy, livestock sectors key to strengthening economy: governor

LAHORE: Punjab Governor Balighur Rehman on Tuesday inaugurated Dairy Asia Expo 2023 at Expo Centre on Wednesday.

Speaking to the media on this occasion, Punjab Governor said that dairy and livestock are very important sectors of Pakistan that play a significant role in the economy. He said that such exhibitions will help in bringing innovation and growth in the dairy industry. He further stated that there is a lot of scope for improvement in the dairy and livestock sectors. He said that dairy and livestock is an integral part of our rural population. This exhibition provided innovative solutions to the farmers and they also knew about the modern techniques.

Governor Punjab said that such exhibitions play an important role in bringing social and economic development in the country and fostering opportunities to learn new technologies. He said that it was heartening to know that such companies are also present in this exhibition that are completely manufacturing machinery in Pakistan. Apart from this, there are also exporters and importers. This exhibition has provided a platform to people related to the dairy sector to exchange innovative solutions and collaborate with other participants. It is also a matter of great honour for us that international exhibitors are also present in this exhibition, he said.

Dairy Asia Expo Managing Director Dr M Akram, Vice Chancellor Cholistan University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Prof Dr Sajjad Khan, Vice Chancellor University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Dr Naseem Ahmed, people associated with the dairy industry and international exhibitors were also present on this occasion.
