PMLN still receiving applications for party tickets in Mansehra
MANSEHRA: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PMLN) is still receiving applications for the party tickets for the upcoming general elections in the district, a leader said on Sunday.
“The party has extended the deadline to submit applications. The candidates can now file their applications with the party’s Parliamentary Board till November 20,” PMLN district president Zafar Mehmood told reporters.
Former federal minister Sardar Mohammad Yousuf or his son Sardar Shahjehan Yousuf are the favourites to get the party ticket for NA-14 Mansehra-1.However, there is a confusion whether PMLN chief Nawaz Sharif or his son-in-law Captain (retd) Mohammad Safdar would contest election from NA-15 Mansehra-II.
Though the former MPA Mian Ziaur Rehman had been disqualified from contesting elections for life in a fake degree case, owing to the recent amendments in the Supreme Court Practice and Procedure Act he has become eligible again to contest the election. And he has applied for the KP Assembly ticket from Balakot’s constituency.
The former tehsil nazim, Balakot Junaid Ali Qasim, and another ex-MPA Sardar Zahoor have also moved applications for the same constituency. PMLN district president Zafar Mehmood has decided to contest election from the constituency, comprising parts of the Tanawal.
