Salary payment to Hindu workers ahead of Diwali emphasised

Islamabad: Federal Minister for Human Rights George Kahlil has called for the release of salary to Hindu workers ahead of Diwali to enable them to celebrate their religious festival of lights with great pleasure and happiness.
He said letters were issued to the federal and provincial governments for the purpose. Diwali will be marked from November 13 to November 15. In a message issued here on Wednesday, the minister said Diwali would be celebrated to commemorate Lord Rama's return home after a fourteen-year exile.
Diwali, also known as Deepavali. On this day, devotees worship Lord Ganesha and Goddess Lakshmi and cleanliness plays a key role on this festival.
