2 cops martyred, 3 injured in another DI Khan terror attack
DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Two cops were martyred and three others sustained injuries when terrorists stormed the facility of a gas and oil company in the erstwhile semi-tribal Darazinda area in Dera Ismail Khan, police officials said on Tuesday.
They said that unidentified terrorists equipped with sophisticated weapons attacked Position No 1 of the Alhaj gas and oil company in the Darazinda area and opened indiscriminate fire on the facility in the dead of Monday night.
Two police constables, identified as Rahmat Illahi and Khan Arif, sustained serious bullet injuries and embraced martyrdom on the spot.
Three cops, including Assistant Sub-Inspector Alam Sher, constables Fazlur Rahman Shah and Attaur Rahman, sustained injuries.
The bodies were shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital, Dera Ismail Khan, for medico-legal formalities while the injured were taken to the Combined Military Hospital for treatment.
It may be mentioned that the terrorists targeted the said company for the second time during the last one month.
Meanwhile, terrorists armed with heavy weapons also attacked the Aba-Shaheed Police Check-post. However, the cops manning the check-post returned the fire. No casualty was reported in the attack. The attackers later fled.
