Islamabad : The sixteenth edition of School of Tomorrow (SOT) Events, themed "Guardians of the Future: Shaping Tomorrow with Generative AI," commenced at the Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA) in Islamabad. Organized by Beaconhouse, Pakistan's largest network of educational institutions, this three-day event, running until November 6, is set to explore the profound impact of generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) on our future.

SOT Events, a visionary platform with a 23-year legacy, has consistently focused on discussions about the future of humanity and the crucial role of children and young people in shaping that future. This year's event continues this tradition while delving into the increasing influence of AI. Notably, AI Avatars take center stage as panelists, adding a futuristic twist to the discussions.

The first day of SOT witnessed a wide array of discussions, covering topics from peace and media's fixation on breaking news to entrepreneurship, sustainability, education, and cyber safety. Prominent participants, including Ali Safina, Mira Sethi, Ali Xeeshan, Vaneeza Ahmad, Roshaneh Zafar, Night Dad, Alyy Khan, and Shahbaz Taseer, engaged in sessions that explored aspects of Pakistani drama and fashion. The event also features an immersive art exhibition, "Envision E-vision: Chronicles of Tomorrow," curated by Rashid Rana & Risham Syed and presented by Beaconhouse National University's School of Visual Arts & Design.

SOT 2023 boasts more than 40 thought-provoking sessions over three days, with over 150 global speakers, including luminaries such as Jeffrey Archer, Sean Covey, Wusat Ullah Khan, Munizae Jahangir, and many others. The event covers a broad spectrum of topics, including climate change, technology, art, education, children's rights, animal rights, healthcare, and more.

Kasim Kasuri, Chair of SOT Events and CEO of Beaconhouse, expressed, "Through the SOT, we aim to explore what the future holds for children and how to better prepare them for the world they are entering. This year, our focus is to bring together experts from diverse fields to share their perspectives on how AI can impact the future of humanity and contribute to creating a more peaceful world."

SOT is a free-to-attend event series initiated in 2000 by Beaconhouse as part of its commitment to corporate social responsibility. SOT conferences have featured over 1,000 thought leaders and changemakers from across the world, including heads of state, prime ministers, and leaders of major global organizations.

In 2023, Google for Education and Tech Valley lead as sponsors, with UBL as the Titanium Sponsor, and My BagPack and Emkay Books International as Gold sponsors. This event promises to be an enlightening exploration of the intersection of AI and the future of our world, making it a must-attend for those passionate about shaping a better tomorrow.
