Four pickpockets held in District Central

The District Central police on Friday apprehended four suspects allegedly involved in pickpocketing activities. The Rizvia Society police took action to arrest a gang responsible for cutting the pockets of unsuspecting citizens.

The arrested suspects, identified as Samar, Jansar Ali, Ikhtiar, and Ali Raza, were caught red-handed while attempting to pilfer from passengers inside a rickshaw. Their quick escape was thwarted as a patrolling mobile unit chased them down, leading to their arrest along with the recovered stolen money.

These culprits were known to be active in the bustling markets of District Central, creating distress among the local population.

Dacoit arrested

In another raid in the city, the Gadap City police apprehended a notorious dacoit identified as Sher Ali following an encounter. Police said the arrest led to the recovery of a .30 bore pistol and stolen money from a citizen.

During the interrogation, Ali revealed his involvement in a series of robberies across Gadap City, Memon Goth, and Malir Cantt areas. Notably, a case had already been registered under section 478/23 for a robbery that took place during a picnic at Aljannat Farm House on October 11, where a motorcycle was snatched. A local person was also shot and injured during for offering resistance during the incident.

Sher Ali was also arrested in connection with this case based on his disclosure. Further investigations are under way.

It has also been revealed that Khuda Bakhsh, alias Khudu, the real brother of the arrested accused, and other family members, had previously been arrested in 2022 after an encounter with the Gadap City police.
