PESHAWAR: Officials at a meeting here on Wednesday discussed the digitization of the record of the Livestock, Fisheries and Cooperative Department to do away with the paperwork and ensure efficiency.
Dr Muhammad Israr, Secretary of the Livestock, Fisheries and Cooperative Department, presided over the meeting, said a handout.
The meeting discussed animal records, production, nutrition and disease prevention. Dr Muhammad Ijaz Ali, Director General of Livestock Research, Asghar Khan, Additional Secretary of Livestock, Farhan Khan, Registrar of Cooperative, and officers from the Livestock, Fisheries, and Agriculture departments attended the meeting.
Dr Israr underscored the need for transitioning from paper-based record-keeping to a real-time database that offered swift access to comprehensive livestock and farm information. A technical expert from the Agriculture Extension Department provided an overview of the tele farming system’s features. The meeting agreed to utilize the technical expertise of tele farming specialists for the initial phase of livestock digitalization.
