PESHAWAR: A team from the Drug Control Unit conducted a raid at Karkhano Market as part of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Health Department’s initiative targeting illicit drugs.
Dr Abbas, the Director General of Drugs and Pharmacy Services, said that the operation resulted in the permanent closure of 23 illegal drug display counters and the confiscation of a substantial quantity of counterfeit medications.
Also, three individuals were apprehended during the raid and handed over to the police for further legal proceedings. Dr Abbas stated that 24 first Information reports were lodged against individuals involved in the illicit trade of unregistered, counterfeit, and harmful drugs in Karkhano Market.
A handout issued here stated that the ongoing campaign against illegal drugs and counterfeit medicines was being carried out on a daily basis for enhancing the quality and accessibility of medications.
