Rana Mujahid new PHF secretary
LAHORE: Former Olympian Rana Mujahid has been elected as the new Secretary of the Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) during a general council meeting held in Lahore.
He replaces Haider Hussain for the position. Colonel Asif Naz Khokhar was elected as the joint secretary. The PHF President, Khalid Sajjad Khokhar, stated in a press conference after the meeting that the federation has resolved all issues amicably and that the election of Rana as the new secretary followed Haider's resignation.
President PHF further mentioned the financial challenges faced by the federation and its efforts to promote hockey, including sending teams abroad and participating in the Pro Hockey League.
He also noted that Pakistan lost the opportunity to host the Olympic qualifying round for various reasons, including a lack of response from the government, but expressed the federation's determination to qualify for the Olympics.
