Mayor lays foundation stone of Mauripur road project
Karachi Mayor Barrister Murtaza Wahab laid the foundation stone for the construction of a five-kilometre two-way road in Mauripur, Union Committee 2.
The road would be constructed from Nasir Brohi Hotel to Mubarak Village. During the ceremony, the mayor said 120 new development schemes had been approved in the Sindh government’s current year’s budget, out of which work had started on many development projects.
The Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC), he said, had recently conducted tenders worth billions of rupees of which the procurement was going on and the practical works would also start soon.
Wahab said the PPP had fulfilled the promises, and Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that Karachi belongs to all of us. “We will restore its glory through service, work will be seen in Karachi, and if there is dedication to work, the powers will come automatically. In four years, the city will be seen changing. The PPP believes in working,” he said. All the roads, he said, they are being constructing after utility lines are laid, and rainwater drainage is arranged.
The mayor said the PPP had built Maripur Road from Fish Chowk to Kennup. He said that they had built a beach front for the people of Manora, and “we do not call a press conference but the media is called to show the work”.
