PESHAWAR: Pakistan Railways employees on Monday demanded release of salaries on a regular basis.Speaking at a protest camp outside the Peshawar Press Club, Ashfaq Bacha and others said that the employees were compelled to stop sending their children to schools.
The protesters said that they were unable to support their families as the gratuity, increment and GP Fund had been stopped. The Pakistan Railways owned properties worth billions of rupees but it could not generate revenue from it, they added.
They said that these properties should be used for commercial purposes to support the employees. The protesters complained that the freight department revenue had almost become negligible.
