Bidding process for construction to be completed next week
Islamabad:The bidding process for construction of Service Road and main road in sector I-9/4 will be completed next week that will pave the way for early completion of these projects.
According to the details, the civic agency has also planned to focus on roads passing through residential sectors by generating funds with its own resources.
The details of the project showed that the contractor would follow the same standards that have been set for mega road projects in the city. The civic agency is also bound to develop green belts along with these roads. An official said that the lowest bidder would get the contract but there is a monitoring committee that would keep vigil over the standard of the construction work.
The federal government had not allocated funds for any new development scheme in the capital city under Public Sector Development Programme (2023-24). The civic agency has planned to carry out development projects with its own resources by selling commercial plots. The issues of roads, clean drinking water and sewerage system have been haunting the residents of sector I-9 and I-10 for last many years. These sectors were neglected by previous administration for unknown reasons. But now development activities are underway in these sectors to address basic problems of the residents.
The official said "We will complete bidding process for construction of roads in sector I-9 next week. This sector was neglected in the past but number of development projects were initiated there in last few months."
"We have resolved the issue of clean drinking water in sector I-9 by constructing new tubewells and completing repair work on those that rendered non-functional due to technical flaws," he said. He said "The provision of clean drinking water to all sectors is our one of the top priorities. We are pursuing an ambitious water management plan to serve this purpose."
