DUBAI: Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz Quaid and former prime minister Nawaz Sharif met a delegation of PMLN UAE chapter on Sunday. Nawaz told the delegation that his party’s top priority would be overcoming the issue of inflation in the country after getting victory in the upcoming elections.

He expressed confidence in the PMLN’s ability to overcome the challenging situation. He expressed the hope that Pakistan’s democratic political parties would come together to form a new government after the elections, with the aim of bringing about economic prosperity in the country.

He paid rich tribute to vigour and enthusiasm of the party workers, who faced difficulties bravely during the past years.

The delegation consisted of PMLN UAE President Ghulam Mustafa, MNA and President PMLN Gulf Ehsanul Haq Bajwa, long-time associate of Nawaz Sharif in Middle East, senior party leader Iftikhar Butt, General Secretary PMLN UAE Raja Abu Bakar Effendi, Chairman PMLN UAE Muhammad Ghous Qadri, Senior Vice President Abdul Ghaffar, Senior Vice President Abdul Waheed Pal, former member Punjab Assembly Azad Ali Tabasum, Vice President Raja Khalid and Vice President PMLN Faisal Altaf.

Nawaz greeted the PMLN leaders on the auspicious occasion of Eidul Azha. PMLN Senior Vice President and party’s Chief Organiser Maryam Nawaz was also present in the meeting. She had previously held detailed meetings with the PMLN UAE delegation in Dubai a few months ago.

Nawaz Sharif was informed about the high morale of party workers present in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and other Gulf countries. He acknowledged the crucial role played by the overseas Pakistani community in strengthening the country’s economy through their valuable foreign exchange contributions. He assured the delegation that the PMLN government would soon overcome the problems of Pakistan.

The PMLN leaders in the Gulf inquired about the health of Nawaz Sharif. The delegation members expressed their commitment to participate in the upcoming elections and pledged their support to former prime minister Nawaz Sharif. They conveyed their good wishes and acknowledged the leadership qualities of Maryam Nawaz, emphasising their belief in her capabilities.

The delegation assured the PMLN leadership that they were ready to actively participate in the electoral process and mobilise the masses for elections. They expressed their desire to see Nawaz Sharif become the prime minister for the fourth time, indicating their high regard for his leadership.

Meanwhile, Nawaz Sharif extended his stay in Dubai for another week. Last week, a legal committee was formed to clear the path for Nawaz Sharif’s return to the country. The committee is headed by Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar, and Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (SAPM) Ataullah Tarar, Irfan Qadir, Amjad Pervaiz and other lawyers are its members.

The committee will make every effort to remove all legal hurdles to Nawaz’s return to the country.

Meanwhile, according to the party sources, Nawaz Sharif’s almost two-week visit to Dubai is coming to an end soon. He spent a very busy time in Dubai and it is expected that he will return to London on July 4, and Maryam Nawaz will fly back to Lahore.

However, some party leaders said Nawaz Sharif would go to Jeddah on Tuesday to perform Umrah.

Sources close to the PMLN leadership said Nawaz Sharif expressed his desire during various political and economic meetings in Dubai that general election in the country should be held on time and that the PMLN was fully ready for it.

Some extraordinary meetings were held during Nawaz Sharif’s visit to Dubai for betterment of the country’s economic system as, sources claimed, a comprehensive plan had been made to steer the country out of economic crisis.

The party leadership said Nawaz would return to Pakistan as soon as the date for election was announced.
