Mohtasib receives 7,973 complaints

The Wafaqi Mohtasib Secretariat received as many as 7,973 complaints against the maladministration in the Ministry of Housing and Works during the last 18 years.
According to data provided by the Mohtasib Secretariat, out of 7,973 complaints against the Housing Ministry from 1998 to 2016, decision has been made on the rest of 7,943 complaints and only 30 cases are pending.
Senior Adviser (Law) and Grievance Commissioner for Overseas Pakistanis Hafiz Ahsaan Ahmed Khokhar, informed that the Wafaqi Mohtasib Secretariat received a very large number of complaints against the maladministration in the Ministry of Housing and Works.
He said that the highest number of complaints was filed in the year 2000, during which 1208 complaints were filed. Khokhar said that currently there were only 30 complaints pending with the Mohtasib Secretariat regarding the Housing Ministry and rest has been disposed of accordingly.
He further said that as per the directions of Wafaqi Mohtasib Salman Faruqui, all out efforts were being made to ensure that no complaint remain pending for more than 45 days.
Hafiz Ahsaan Ahmed Khokhar was of the view that the Wafaqi Mohtasib Secretariat was committed to provide justice and to curb maladministration in federal government departments as per its mandate.
