Never compromise on your conscience, Imran tells youth
Says champion is one who fights till the last ball
PESHAWAR: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan on Saturday urged the youth to never be afraid of those in power and never compromise on their conscience.
He said the slave always remains slave, adding that those who beg could not make an eye contact with the givers.
Imran said he had never sold his consciousness, adding that if they would accept defeat then they would face defeat adding that the champion was one who continues the contest till the last ball. He said soon people would come to Pakistan in search of jabs.
He was addressing the opening ceremony of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa mega challenge sports festival here.
He said the youth of KP and Pakistan should always stand by the truth. He said fear of loss would make you incompetent to take advantage of your opponents’ mistakes.
“I will win,” should be the intention of every player in the festival while entering the field, he advised the players. “Whosoever thinks great becomes great man in life. If you accept defeat, then you will meet defeat,” he added. “I’m glad to know that our youth has got respect for Azaan,” said Imran when Azaan started.
He said he stopped watching boxing after retirement of Muhammad Ali, as there was no other player like him. Muhammad Ali never compromised on his consciousness. “I’ve never seen sportsman like him. Follow his example,” Imran added.
Muhammad Ali refused to go and fight a war in Vietnam. He said “my religion doesn’t allow me to kill innocent people.”
Referring to country’s exports, he said Pakistan exports stand at $20 billion and, on the other hand, the exports of Singapore, which has less population than Peshawar, comes to $512 billion. There is need to enhance country’s exports, he stressed. Imran was presented a shield on this occasion.
